Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the dynamics of today’s world is an undeniable reality. Therefore, this research article establishes AI as an assistive technology, going beyond mere innovation to become an advanced and enforceable form of “reasonable accommodation,” as established in international human rights treaties. This exploratory qualitative research aims to establish the importance of using AI technologies as reasonable accommodation measures by examining a theoretical and legal framework to determine their relevance. The goal is to identify these technological uses as a means to eradicate barriers that prevent the full enjoyment and exercise of rights, thereby fostering a state of equality and non-discrimination for all persons.
