Process for submitting articles
Once the article meets the formatting guidelines established by the Journal, the author may upload it to the official platform. Once the above is completed, the author must fill out, with their personal data and signature, the Cover Letter. This letter must be sent to the Journal’s email in digital format. Articles will not be reviewed if the Journal has not received the Cover Letter, which can be found at the following link: COVER LETTER
The authors of the article assume full responsibility for the content of their published manuscript. They must refrain from submitting their work to another journal while it is under review at Revista Fidélitas. Authors are required to disclose their sources of funding and indicate whether or not conflicts of interest exist. Likewise, for manuscripts structured in an empirical model, they must report the methodological strategy followed with the greatest possible thoroughness, so that any other person can replicate the procedure and corroborate the findings.
Editing
The editor of the Journal is responsible for reviewing whether the manuscripts received meet the fundamental quality criteria in terms of form and substance. If they do not, the editor may definitively reject the article or request improvements from the author. If the document meets the quality criteria, the editor initiates the peer review process by sending the document to external professionals (reviewers) at the publishing entity.
Peer Review System
At this stage, manuscripts undergo a thorough study using the double-blind method by reviewers external to the Journal, in order to identify substantive and formal improvements, as well as any type of fraud, plagiarism, or academic conduct incompatible with intellectual honesty and the ethics of the relevant discipline. Reviewers are external to the publishing institution. In addition, rigor is maintained in the review of articles from a technical and scientific standpoint, regarding the quality of the information, and the clarity and fluency of the ideas presented. During this process, there is a commitment to not use or disclose the information reviewed.
The reviewers of manuscripts accepted by the editor are external to Universidad Fidélitas and Revista Fidélitas and follow a guide format as can be seen at the following links: 1. Article, 2. Essay, 3. Case Study, 4. Literature Review, 5. Law Article. This document lists the requirements that articles must meet. If any opportunity for improvement is detected during the review process, the editor will immediately notify the author via email. The results of the double-blind peer review process may result in one of the following possibilities:
• Article/essay/case study/literature review/Law article accepted without modifications
• Article/essay/case study/literature review/Law article accepted with some recommended modifications
• Article/essay/case study/literature review/Law article rejected
In the double-blind peer review process, if one reviewer rejects the article and the other approves it, the article will be sent to a third reviewer to obtain a “tiebreaker.” The party responsible for the final decision in this case is the editor of Revista Fidélitas. A flowchart of the double-blind review process can be seen at the following link: PEER REVIEW
Plagiarism control policy
Revista Fidélitas reiterates to authors who write and submit their manuscripts to this publication that direct quotations, paraphrases, and bibliographic references must be duly identified within the text, ensuring ethics and the reliability of the writing and ruling out plagiarism. See the Plagiarism Detection section.
